The Commissionerate of Panchayat & Rural Development (CPRD), Assam has released a major recruitment notification (No. E-436421/1447476/2026) inviting online applications from Indian citizens to fill up 1,508 vacant contractual posts. These positions are created under flagship programmes like Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Act (MGNREGA), Pradhan Mantri Awaas Yojana Gramin (PMAY-G), and Finance Commission Grants. Reservation Details: RFW = Reserved for Women (30%), ST(P) = Scheduled Tribes Plain (10%), ST(H) = Scheduled Tribes Hills (5%), SC = Scheduled Caste (7%), PH = Physically Handicapped (4% total: 1% Blind/low vision, 1% Deaf/Hearing Impaired, 1% Orthopedically, 1% Autism/mental illness).

🎓 Eligibility, Age Limit & Language Skills

• 🔹 Nationality: Candidates must be Indian Citizens as defined under Articles 5 to 9 of the Constitution of India.
• 🔹 Language Skills: The candidate should have good knowledge in English and Hindi language apart from Assamese language, as they have to communicate with the Ministry of Rural Development, Government of India.
• 🔹 Age Limit: General category age must be between 18 to 40 Years.
• 🔹 Age Relaxation:
  • SC/ST Candidates: 5 Years
  • OBC/MOBC Candidates: 3 Years
  • PH Candidates: 10 Years

⚔️ Selection Procedure & Exam Pattern

1. Written Examination (OMR Based):
   • There will be two written examinations: Paper-1 (for Gram Panchayat Coordinator, Computer Assistant, Gram Rozgar Sahayak) and Paper-2 (for Accredited Engineer).
   • Candidates applying for both must submit their preference for Paper-1 posts.
   • The test will be of 75 Marks comprising 75 questions. Duration is 2 hours.
   • Negative Marking: 0.25 mark deducted for every 1 mark question, and 0.5 mark deducted for every 2 marks question for wrong answers or multiple answers.
   • Syllabus Parts: (i) Domain Knowledge (ii) Computer proficiency (iii) Logical reasoning, aptitude, comprehension (iv) History and Culture of Assam and India (v) General Knowledge. (Accredited Engineer will also have technical knowledge questions).
2. Viva-Voce: Shortlisted candidates based on written exam merit will appear for a Viva of 25 Marks. Candidates will be called in a 1:1 ratio to the number of vacancies.
3. Merit List & Tie-Breaking: One single merit list per category. In case of a tie in marks, the candidate older in age will be placed higher. If age is same, candidate with higher education will be placed higher. The waiting list is valid for one year.
4. Contract Tenure: Selected candidates will sign an agreement for 364 days, subject to renewal based on performance and requirement.

📝 How to Apply & Strict Upload Guidelines

Applications must be submitted ONLY through online mode via the official website https://www.rural.assam.gov.in. No physical applications will be entertained. Candidates must carefully follow the strict upload guidelines below:

📸 Photograph Guidelines:

• Color photo with white background, taken after 1st January 2026.
• Standard size: 4.5cm x 3.5cm. Face should occupy about 50% area.
• Max pixel resolution: 640 x 480. Min pixel resolution: 320 x 240.
• Max file size: 100 kb (JPEG format only).
• No dark/tinted glasses allowed. Mobile selfies/self-composed portraits are rejected.

✍️ Signature Guidelines:

• Put signature with black or dark blue ink on a white paper.
• Max pixel resolution: 800 x 300. Min pixel resolution: 400 x 150.
• Dimension: 3.5cm (width) x 2.5cm (height).
• Max file size: 100 kb (JPEG format only).

1. Age Proof (Birth Certificate / HSLC Admit Card).
2. ID Proof (PAN, Voter ID, Aadhar, Driving License).
3. Certificate and Mark-sheet of Minimum Educational Qualification.
4. Certificate on Computer Proficiency (for GPC, CA, GRS, AE).
5. Caste Certificate / Disability Certificate (if applicable).
