💸 Monthly Stipend Breakdown

Candidates selected as Graduate Apprentice Trainees (Engineering) will be paid a consolidated monthly stipend of ₹ 25,000/-. The stipend payment structure is as follows:

  • ₹ 20,500/- will be paid directly by Hindustan Petroleum Corporation Limited (HPCL).
  • ₹ 4,500/- will be paid directly into the bank account by the Government of India (GOI) as per the Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT) scheme under NATS.

*Note: There is no obligation on the part of HPCL to provide housing assistance or any other allowances to the selected candidates other than the fixed stipend amount mentioned above.


⚔️ Complete Selection Methodology

The selection process for HPCL Graduate Apprenticeship 2026-27 is purely merit-based and transparent. The sequence of selection is as follows:

  • 📝 Stage 1: Merit Based Screening: Applications will be strictly screened based on the merit percentage (marks) obtained in the qualifying engineering degree, adhering to the prescribed qualification and eligibility criteria stream-wise.
  • 🗣️ Stage 2: Document Verification (1:5 Ratio): Candidates will be called for Document Verification in the order of merit in a ratio of 1:5 with respect to the training positions available against each stream. Shortlisted candidates will receive communication via their registered email. (No TA/DA will be paid for attending Document Verification).
  • 📄 Stage 3: Final Merit List & Tri-Partite Contract: A final merit list will be prepared based on candidates reporting for DV and found suitable. The candidate will be engaged in merit order upon accepting the tri-partite apprenticeship contract on the NATS website.
  • 🏥 Stage 4: Medical & Police Verification: Engagement is subject to the submission of a medical certificate in the prescribed format and successful police verification.
🚨 Important Future Recruitment Preference: HPCL does NOT give any commitment for permanent employment. However, apprentices who successfully complete the 1-year training will be accorded relaxation / preference in regular recruitment norms. This includes age relaxation up to the training period (max 1 year) and additional 5% grace marks in the Computer Based Test (CBT) for shortlisting in future selections.

Candidates are allowed to fill only ONE application. Multiple applications will be rejected. Follow this exact workflow to submit your form without errors:

  1. Step 1 (Mandatory Prerequisite): Candidates must first be registered and approved on the National Apprenticeship Training Scheme (NATS 2.0) web portal by the Board of Apprenticeship Training (BOAT).
  2. Step 2 (HPCL Portal Registration): Visit the specific HPCL Apprentice Application Link: http://jobs.hpcl.co.in/Recruit_New/recruitlogin.jsp. Click on the “Sign up for New Registration” option.
  3. Step 3: Once registered successfully, you will receive your login details (Email ID and Password) from the HPCL Apprentice Team on your registered email.
  4. Step 4 (Login): Return to the portal and sign in using your newly generated credentials.
  5. Step 5 (Fill Details):
    • Carefully select your Engineering Branch from the dropdown list.
    • Fill in your Personal Details (Names must match educational documents exactly). Click “Validate your details”, then “Save & Next”.
    • Fill in your Contact Details (Correspondence and Permanent address).
    • Select your preferred Training Position (Mumbai Refinery OR Visakh Refinery). Only one option is allowed.
    • Input your Qualification Details accurately.
  6. Step 6 (Uploads): Upload a scanned copy of your recent Passport Sized Photograph and your Signature in the specified format.
  7. Step 7 (Preview & Submit): Thoroughly click on Preview. If corrections are needed, go back and edit. Once verified, check the declaration boxes and click Final Submit.

📜 Crucial General Conditions to Remember

  • 🔸 Candidates who have previously engaged as an Apprentice or are currently undergoing apprenticeship training under the Apprentices Act, 1961 elsewhere are NOT eligible to apply.
  • 🔸 Candidates who possess work experience of one year or more are NOT eligible to apply.
  • 🔸 Reserved category candidates must submit SC/ST/OBC-NC/PwBD certificates in the prescribed format available on the HPCL website during Document Verification. The caste name must perfectly match the central government notification list.
  • 🔸 The OBC claim relies on the state to which the candidate’s father originally belongs. “Creamy Layer” OBC candidates are treated as Unreserved (UR).
