  • Who either has been retired or relieved or discharged from such service whether at his own request or being relieved by the employer after earning his or her pension; or

  • Note: Age concession is NOT admissible to sons, daughters, and dependents of Ex-Servicemen.

⚔️ Exhaustive Selection Process & CBT Scheme

The AIIMS NORCET examination will be strictly conducted in two successive stages. Both stages involve high-security Computer Based Tests (CBT) featuring a time-locked sectional automatic submission system.

Stage I: NORCET Preliminary Examination

The Preliminary stage is a screening test. Marks scored here will NOT be used for deciding Merit/Rank for final selection.

  • ⏱️ Total Duration: 90 Minutes
  • 📝 Question Format: 100 MCQs carrying 100 marks (Four alternatives per question).
  • 📚 Syllabus Division: 20 MCQs on General Knowledge & Aptitude + 80 MCQs on the Nursing course syllabus.
  • Negative Marking: Yes, a strict penalty of 1/3 marks for every incorrect answer.
  • Sectional Timing Rule: The question paper is divided into 5 sections of 18 minutes each, containing 20 questions. Sections will activate sequentially. Once the 18 minutes expire, the section auto-submits, and you cannot return to it.
  • 🏅 Qualifying Percentile: UR/EWS (50 Percentile), OBC (45 Percentile), SC/ST (40 Percentile). PWBD candidates receive an additional 5 percentile relaxation.

Stage II: NORCET Mains Examination

Candidates qualifying in Stage I (equal to 5 times the total seats in each category) will proceed to Stage II. The final Merit List and seat allocation will be based exclusively on Stage II performance.

  • ⏱️ Total Duration: 180 Minutes (3 Hours)
  • 📝 Question Format: 160 MCQs carrying 160 marks.
  • 📚 Syllabus Focus: Covering the entire syllabus of Nursing courses, deeply focused on case scenario-based questions to test clinical nursing skills and competency.
  • Negative Marking: Yes, 1/3 marks deducted for each wrong answer.
  • Sectional Timing Rule: The paper is divided into 4 sections of 45 minutes each, containing 40 questions. Sections are time-locked and will automatically submit after 45 minutes.
  • 🏅 Qualifying Percentage: UR/EWS (50%), OBC (45%), SC/ST (40%). PWBD receives a 5% relaxation.

⚖️ Resolution of Tie Cases in Merit

If more than one candidate secures equal MARKS, the tie will be resolved logically:

  1. First, by using date of birth (older candidates placed higher).
  2. If still unresolved, the number of wrong answers / negative marks will be evaluated (those with fewer wrong answers placed higher).

♿ PwBD Guidelines & Scribe/Compensatory Time

The post of Nursing Officer is identified suitable for Locomotor Disabilities: OL (One Leg), LC(OL) (Leprosy Cured One Leg), Dw (Dwarfism), AAV (Acid Attack Victims) with a benchmark disability of equal to or more than 40%.

  • Candidates with blindness, locomotor disability (both arms affected), and cerebral palsy are eligible for a scribe and Compensatory Time of 20 minutes per hour of the examination.
  • Other PwBD categories facing physical writing limitations must produce a specific medical certificate (Appendix A-1 & A-2) from a Chief Medical Officer to avail of scribe facilities.
  • If opting for an own scribe, the scribe’s qualification must be one step below the minimum qualification criteria of the test (i.e., one step below MBBS/equivalent), but always matriculated or above.

💳 Application Fees & Refund Protocol

🔸 General / OBC Candidates: ₹ 3000/-
🔸 SC / ST / EWS Candidates: ₹ 2400/-
