📢 Walk-In Interview for Guest Faculty (Islamic Studies)

Maulana Azad National Urdu University (MANUU), a prestigious Central University under the Ministry of Education, Government of India, has released an official notification (Dated: 26.02.2026) for the engagement of teaching staff. The University desires to engage the services of Guest Faculty on a short-term contractual basis at its Arts and Science College for Women, Budgam (Srinagar).

The recruitment is specifically for the subject of Islamic Studies. Eligible candidates possessing a Master’s Degree with NET/SET/SLET or Ph.D., and having proficiency in Urdu, are invited to attend the Walk-in-Interview scheduled on Wednesday, 11th March 2026. 🎓 Essential Qualifications & Eligibility

Candidates must meet the following strict academic and language requirements to apply for the Guest Faculty position:

1️⃣ Educational Qualifications (Master’s & NET)

• ✅ Master’s Degree: Good academic record with at least 55% marks (or an equivalent grade) in Islamic Studies from an Indian University or an accredited foreign university.
• ✅ National Eligibility Test (NET): The candidate must have cleared the NET conducted by UGC/CSIR or similar accredited tests like SLET/SET.

2️⃣ Exemption from NET/SLET/SET (Ph.D. Holders)

Candidates who have been awarded a Ph.D. Degree in accordance with UGC Regulations (2009 or 2016) are exempted from NET/SLET/SET. The exemption is subject to the following conditions:

• Ph.D. degree awarded in regular mode.
• Thesis evaluated by at least two external examiners.
• Open Ph.D. viva voce conducted.
• Published two research papers from Ph.D. work (at least one in a refereed journal).
• Presented at least two papers in conferences/seminars.

(Note: These conditions must be certified by the Registrar or Dean of the concerned University).

3️⃣ Foreign Ph.D. Degree Holders

Candidates with a Ph.D. from a foreign university ranked among the Top 500 in the World University Ranking (QS, THE, or ARWU) are also eligible.

⚠️ CRITICAL REQUIREMENT: Knowledge of Urdu

Since MANUU is an Urdu University, the medium of instruction is Urdu. Therefore, Knowledge of Urdu is COMPULSORY for this teaching post.

The candidate must fulfill ONE of the following conditions:

• 🔸 Must have studied from an Urdu Medium School/Madarsa.
• 🔸 OR Studied Urdu as a subject at 10th (SSC) or 12th (Intermediate) level.
• 🔸 OR Studied Urdu as a subject at UG (Graduation) or PG level.
• 🔸 OR Studied Urdu from recognized Boards/Madarsa/NIOS/Open Schools.

ℹ️ General Conditions

• 🔹 Retired Teachers: Professors/Associate Professors/Assistant Professors below 65 years of age are also eligible.
• 🔹 No TA/DA: No Travelling Allowance or Dearness Allowance will be paid for attending the interview.
• 🔹 Posting: Selected candidates may be posted at MANUU Headquarters or any other campus depending on requirements.
• 🔹 Documents: Candidates must verify their documents at their own expense.

2. Print Registration Form: Go to Page 4 of the PDF. This is the official Registration Form. Print it out.
3. Fill the Form: Fill in all details (Name, Parentage, DOB, Qualifications, Urdu Knowledge) in Capital Letters. Paste a recent passport-size photo.
4. Prepare Documents: Carry the filled form along with:
   • Original Educational Certificates (SSC to Ph.D.).
   • Experience Certificates (if any).
   • Proof of Knowledge of Urdu (Marksheet of 10th/12th/Graduation).
   • Testimonials and Caste Certificate (if applicable).
   • One Set of Self-Attested Photocopies of all documents.
5. Report: Reach the venue in Srinagar on 11.03.2026 at 10:00 AM.
