🧑🎓 Age Limit & Category Relaxations

⚖️ Permissible Age Relaxations:

💸 Stipend Details & DBT Mechanism
The Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT) mechanism has been implemented. The Government of India directly transfers its share to the apprentices’ bank accounts. KRCL will pay the balance 50% (Establishment’s share) as follows:
- ✅ Graduate Apprentices: Rs. 4,500/- p.m. (KRCL Establishment share)
- ✅ Technician (Diploma) Apprentices: Rs. 4,000/- p.m. (KRCL Establishment share)
*Note: Candidates must possess an AADHAR-linked Bank Account in their own name and a PAN card to ensure seamless transfer of the stipend through DBT. Candidates will have to make their own lodging/boarding arrangements.
⚔️ Mode of Selection & Preferences
The selection process for the KRCL Apprenticeship 2026 is strictly based on Merit. No written exam or interview will be conducted. The criteria are as follows:
- 📝 Stage 1: Preparation of Merit List: For all categories, the total marks obtained across all years/semesters will be summed up to calculate an aggregate percentage. No rounding off or specific semester weightage will be given.
- ⚖️ Tie-Breaking Rule: If two candidates have the same marks, the older candidate will be selected. If DOB is also the same, the one who passed matriculation earlier will be preferred.
- 📄 Stage 2: Document Verification (DV): Candidates equalling 3 times the number of notified seats will be called for the first round of DV.
🏆 Selection Preferences Provided by KRCL:
- 🥇 First Preference (Land Losers): Candidates whose land was acquired for the Konkan Railway Project. This includes the person himself/herself, spouse, son, unmarried daughter, paternal grandson, and paternal unmarried granddaughter.
- 🥈 Second Preference (Local Jurisdictions): Candidates belonging to specific districts: Raigad, Ratnagiri, Sindhudurg (Maharashtra), North Goa, South Goa (Goa), Uttara Kannada, Udupi, and Dakshina Kannada (Karnataka).
