📋 Essential Duties & Responsibilities

| 🗳️ Election Management | Plans, organizes, coordinates, performs, and manages all facets of Federal, State, County, and contracted local political subdivision elections. Serves as the Early Voting Clerk for all applicable elections. |
| 📝 Voter Registration | Maintains voter registration records, processes status changes, ensures database accuracy, issues voter registration certificates, and maintains street indexes for proper precinct assignment. |
| 🔒 Security & Compliance | Monitors and manages the security of election records, voting equipment, and other items according to the Texas State Library and Archives Commission schedule. Develops and implements policies in compliance with state/federal laws. |
| 💰 Budget & Liaison | Prepares and manages the annual budget. Serves as County liaison to Local, State, and Federal officials, political party chairs, and community leaders regarding election matters. |
| 👥 Supervision | Supervises, recruits, and manages hourly department staff and temporary election workers. Conducts state-mandated Election training. |
🎓 Qualification Requirements
✅ Education & Experience
- 🎓 Education: High School Diploma or equivalent (Some college preferred).
- 🏢 Experience: 5 or more years’ experience in Federal, State, or County Government.
- ⭐ Preferred: Elections office administration experience.
- 👔 Supervisory: Must have experience hiring and training a staff of 3 or more.

- 🚗 License: Valid Texas Driver License.
- 🗳️ Voter Status: Must be a registered voter of the State of Texas.
- 🚫 Restriction: May not be a candidate for public office, hold a public office, or hold a position in a political party.
- 💰 Bond: Ability to post a bond set by Commissioners’ Court (not to exceed $20,000).
